CALL FOR PAPERS | SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 31ST AUGUST 2020

Publication of Conference Proceedings and e-book: the mentioned call for papers is open to all academics. The main lecturers may enrich the final publication with a paper if they want to; in this case, their contributions will be considered an invitation and won't be submitted to the double blind review process. 


            The Conference “Build Back Better: Reducing Vulnerabilities, Strengthening Justice” aims to gather national and international specialists in order to extend the academic studies concerning the battle against poverty, misery and vulnerabilities. The Conference will concentrate its activities towards the following subjects:

  

  • (i)  COVID-19 and its Unequal Impacts;

  • (ii)  Environmental Crisis;

  • (iii)  Historical Oppression, Colonialism, & Racism Today;

  • (iv)  Social & Economic Vulnerabilities, Universal Safety Net & Basic Income, Right to Development & Sustainable Development Goals (UN).


            We envision three types of publication: abstract (500 words), which will be part of conference proceedings; final article, to be published on the conference e-book and the best may be selected to be published in ASAP Journal.

            The authors shall submit expanded abstracts, which will be evaluated by the double-blind review system. Only the approved abstracts shall be invited to be presented at the Conference and the best ones shall be selected to be published as an article, according to the following schedule.

Build Back Better: Reducing vulnerabilities, strengthening justice, is an international event coordinated by the Mackenzie Presbyterian University, Yale University e Quinnipiac University, Academics Stand Against Poverty – ASAP Global, with financial support by CAPES and MackPesquisa, promoted under the activities of the Internalization Project UPM CAPES-PrInt: “Social Inclusion, public policies and governance to reduce inequalities”, with the institutional aid of Postgraduate Program in Political and Economic Law.

FORMAL CRITERIA

Only original contributions written in English will be accepted. Expanded Abstracts and articles should be in accordance with the themes mentioned above and meet the following formal criteria:

  1.  Indication of one of the themes mentioned above;

  2.  Summary in English;

  3.  Main text: Times New Roman, size 12 and spacing 1,5;

  4.  Full name of the author and indication of the respective institutional affiliation; in case of co-authorship, the full names and institutional affiliations of each of the authors must be indicated;

  5.  All items must use the justified alignment (word feature);

  6.  It must be sent in two electronic formats: .pdf and .docx
